Release Tour & Review: Tap: A Lovibond Novel by Georgia Cates

Release Day: JANUARY 11, 2016

SYNOPSIS:

A faceless name. That’s all she was when I agreed to play a part in deceiving her. But then the unplanned happened.
We met. And all I wanted from her was a dirty weekend . . . until that wasn’t enough and I longed for so much more.
Lawrence Thorn suddenly means the world to me. And that’s a problem. She’s my business partner’s sister. Forbidden fruit. Pursuing her can mean trouble for me at Lovibond Brewery. But I don’t care.

I yearn for her skin against mine.
I crave her smell on my body.
I want to make her laugh and then hear her moan my name.
And she does for a brief moment in time.

But Lawrence wants more than I’m able to give. And it’s a damn shame because there’s no one on earth I want more than her.

An epic love.
A miserable ending.
Unless it’s not.

My Review:

Tap is the first book in Georgia Cates new Lovibond series.  The Lovibond series is about three guys, friends, who have banded together to make the awesome Lovibond Brewery.  Tap, Stout, and Porter make up Lovibond Brewery.   In this book, we get to know all about the delicious hottie that is Tap.

Tap is Lucas Broussard's nickname. Lucas is not an involved guy, he doesn't do relationships, he doesn't do commitments, he's not even really sure he completely understands love.  He's been through a lot in his life including making many mistakes, an unconventional marriage, and people not understanding certain things he does.  But there's a lot of depth to the hottie that one wouldn't expect when we first meet him in the book.  Lucas is tagged by his business partner and friend, Stout, to do something for him, namely keep his sister from finding out about something while he's away.  It's supposed to be a simple texting duty.

Too bad, Lawrence didn't get the memo, and shows up in town to surprise her brother.  The rest as they say, is history.  Lawrence was hilarious, she's definitely her own person.  But she's deeply protective and loving of her baby brother, and after catching pieces of their past, its completely understandable. When Lawrence meets Tap for the first time, there is a jolt of connection, chemistry, and she can't understand his reticence to act on it, except maybe feel he doesn't feel it too.

Tap wants very much to act on his feelings for Lawrence, who he's dubbed Wren after getting to know her a little, but he's concerned with how Stout would feel, since he's already been warned off.  Off limits or not, Tap cant' seem to stay away from Wren.

This book takes you on a little adventure watching as these two characters try to fight their feelings, but instead continue to fall deeper.  You learn alot about the characters in general, not just Tap and Wren, and as such, the Lovibond Brewery feels like a part of your life, like you could walk in and have a drink with friends.    Tap is full of steamy moments, a little drama, swooning, and heartfelt moments between siblings, there are bits that hit you in the heart, deep emotions, and others that will make you laugh til you almost cry.   This book has a little of everything as we watch two people find themselves hooked on each other and fight against all the reasons they shouldn't.

Each of the characters have things in their past they regret, or haven't really gotten over, there is a lot to take in in getting know each of them, but as each little bit is revealed, its hard to not fall right in love with them.  Tap isn't just the Hot Brewery guy who doesn't do relationships, he's a guy who was dealt a hard hand with his first marriage, and even though in the end it worked out for the best, that's always going to be in the back of his mind.   Lawrence will also always have the disaster of her childhood in the back of her mind, so shes' got her own struggles and hang ups.

I look forward to reading more about the Lovibond gang and their ups and downs in the following books of the series.
