Blog Tour: This is Me, Baby by K. Webster

This is Me, Baby

by K. Webster War & Peace Series Publication Date: February 7, 2017 Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Dark Romance
***This is the fifth book in the series. First four books must be read first in order to understand this story line.*** The game was over and they stole the victory away from ME. Cheating. Lies. Corruption. Death. This pawn never stood a chance. But then he came for ME. He plucked ME from my nightmare and kept me safe. My heart was in tatters and my soul was lost. Until the beast in ME woke up. She was hungry and furious and didn’t play by the rules of their game. We were a vicious team. And we changed the game altogether. I took what was theirs because they took what was mine. ME against them. That is…until I had someone else with ME. Someone who vowed to fight alongside ME until the very end. I don’t want the love he has for ME. But the beast in ME still craves to take everything she deserves. He should run far away from ME. Instead, he runs straight for ME. This is ME, baby and I am going to ruin them all. ***Warning*** This is Me, Baby is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes and violence, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to dark themes, then this story is not for you.

Review

One thing that's always sort of implied when you read a K. Webster book is to expect the unexpected and to prepare to be shocked.  With each book in the War & Peace series, she has done just that, brought shock and surprise and drug me deeper into the depths of this dark dark world of hers.

This is Me, Baby is book number five and if you haven't read previous books in the series, then you absolutely need to start there - this is not a book to dive into without having previous knowledge of this world of characters.

One of my favorite things about the books in this series, beyond the whole never knowing what's going to come next, is that K. Webster blends the story into something real, something that packs an emotional punch one way or another.  The characters suck you in and hold you captive, feeling for them, be it sadness, happiness, or sometimes fear or rage.  I love that lure to know what is coming next, the pull to flip the page and read the words and build on to the story.

This is Me, Baby is a continuation of Brie's story, and we get to see the fall out from the previous book, we get to learn more and see what's coming for this character.  We also of course get bits and pieces of other characters and we get to watch as the story wraps them all further together. There's bonds there, even when they are unwanted or unthought of, connections from one book to the next, from one person to another and all of it builds on the existing stories read in the series.

Take a wild ride with K. Webster and pick up this series today, you'll cry, you'll hurt, you'll smile, and everything in between, one thing you won't be though is bored or disappointed.
