REVIEW
As I have read this series, from book one, I've been curious about Dane - something about him just called to me in a way the others didn't so to say I was excitedly awaiting Dane's book would be putting it mildly. I have to say Dane did not disappoint and I'm so glad I staked my claim early on - that's right - he's mine!
Grind was gritty and deep, full of suspense, action, and of course an unexpected love story, as my man Dane never considered. Dane is quite the man - he's loyal, he's protective, he's independent and he's got serious morals - not quite what you'd expect from a man who willingly kills for money. He's not in the escort business for reasons you'd expect.
Meanwhile our lovely heroine, Irina, is also not at all what I expected. Meeting her in book 1, and seeing that side of her, and then discovering her real story in Grind, I was so intrigued. Irina has been through a lot, and sadly she really didn't have anyone she could count on for much. Irina needs help and when she finds herself in Dane's house, where he's stunned by his need to protect her - things change. Irina isn't sure what's worse - the situation she wants to leave or the unknown situation she's in with Dane.
As Irina and Dane grow closer and he tries to solve her problem- they find more than a mutual attraction, something stronger than the chemistry that perfumes the air around them. But after all Irina's been through and the sort of man Dane is, will they be able to work it out and find a way to really be together? Can Dane protect what he's know considering his? Can Irina let go of her trust issues and find herself counting on Dane to love her regardless of her past?

Sybil Bartel grew up in Northern California with her head in a book and her feet in the sand. She dreamt of becoming a painter but the heady scent of libraries with their shelves full of books drew her into the world of storytelling. She loves the New Adult genre, but any story about a love so desperately wrong and impossibly beautiful makes her swoon.
